Section 01
Getting started
Piece My Pay is your personal pay dashboard.
It brings together the different pieces that determine your pay, such as your employment agreement, award or enterprise agreement, roster and payslip, to help you understand how your pay was calculated and identify potential discrepancies.
Piece My Pay helps you check whether the pay shown on your payslip appears to match the work you performed and the pay rules that apply to you.
You provide the documents that determine your pay, your work information and your payslip.
Piece My Pay then brings those pieces together and shows the result through your pay dashboard.
Most people receive their payslip, look at the final amount and assume everything is correct.
But your pay can depend on many different things:
- hours
- rates
- overtime
- penalty rates
- allowances
- loadings
- breaks
- minimum engagements
- employment conditions
Piece My Pay gives you a way to check those pieces rather than relying only on the final number.
No.
Part of the purpose of Piece My Pay is to reduce the amount of employment-document reading and manual calculation you need to do yourself.
You provide the relevant documents and Piece My Pay helps identify the information needed for your pay check.
You’ll generally need:
- the document or documents that determine your pay
- a roster or reliable record of the work you performed
- your payslip
The more complete and accurate the information you provide, the more complete your pay check can be.
Processing time will depend on the documents provided and the complexity of your employment arrangement.
The platform should show you the status of your check while your information is being processed.
No.
You decide how often you use Piece My Pay.
However, Piece My Pay is designed as an ongoing pay dashboard so you can check your pay over time rather than treating it as a one-off calculation.
Section 02
How Piece My Pay works
Piece My Pay brings together three main pieces of information:
- The rules that determine your pay.
- The work you actually performed.
- The pay you actually received.
It uses those pieces to calculate an expected result and compare it with the information shown on your payslip.
This depends on your employment arrangement.
Relevant information might include:
- ordinary hourly rates
- salaried rates
- classification
- hours worked
- shift times
- overtime
- weekends
- public holidays
- penalties
- allowances
- casual loading
- minimum engagements
- breaks
- other employment conditions
Piece My Pay only calculates using information available from the documents and records provided.
No.
Piece My Pay needs sufficient information about your employment and the work you performed.
It should not guess when important information is missing.
If additional information is needed, the platform should identify that clearly.
Depending on your employment arrangement, your pay may be affected by documents such as:
- an employment contract
- an award
- an enterprise agreement
- an individual flexibility arrangement
- workplace policies
- other employment documents
Not every document will apply to every worker.
Piece My Pay processes the relevant information, performs the applicable calculation and compares the expected pay with the information contained on your payslip.
Your result is then presented through your pay dashboard.
Section 03
Checking your pay
Depending on the rules and information available, Piece My Pay may check things such as:
- ordinary hours
- base rates
- overtime
- penalty rates
- loadings
- allowances
- breaks
- minimum engagement periods
- differences between rostered hours and payslip hours
- other applicable pay conditions
Piece My Pay compares the information you’ve provided about your work and pay conditions with the information shown on your payslip.
Your dashboard then shows whether the information checked appears to align and identifies potential discrepancies for review.
Where sufficient information is available, Piece My Pay can compare the hours recorded in your work information with the hours represented on your payslip.
Yes, where relevant overtime rules can be determined from your employment documents and enough information is available to calculate them.
Where applicable weekend penalty rules can be identified from the information supplied, those rules can form part of the calculation.
Where the relevant employment rules and date information are available, applicable public holiday conditions can be considered.
Yes, where the relevant allowance rules can be identified and sufficient information exists to determine whether they apply.
Where casual loading applies and can be determined from your employment information, it can form part of the calculation.
Where a minimum engagement rule applies and can be determined from your documents, it can be included in the calculation.
Where the relevant break rules and shift information are available, break conditions can be taken into account.
Yes, provided you still have enough relevant information to recreate the pay period being checked.
That generally means having the appropriate employment documents, your work information and the payslip.
Yes.
Piece My Pay is intended to provide an ongoing record of pay checks rather than only checking a single payslip.
Section 04
Results & discrepancies
That’s a positive result.
A correct pay check gives you reassurance that the information checked by Piece My Pay appears to align with your payslip.
It also contributes to your ongoing pay history within your dashboard.
Piece My Pay will identify the potential difference and provide information showing what appears not to match.
You can then review the result and decide whether further investigation is needed.
No.
A discrepancy means that the result calculated using the information available to Piece My Pay does not appear to match the information contained on your payslip.
There may be:
- missing information
- an incorrect upload
- a roster difference
- a payroll explanation
- a different interpretation of an employment condition
- another reason for the difference
A discrepancy should be reviewed before it is treated as an underpayment.
Where sufficient information is available to calculate a monetary difference, Piece My Pay can display the difference between the expected calculation and the information identified on your payslip.
If the information supplied indicates that the amount paid is higher than the calculated result, that difference may also be identified.
First, check that all of the information you supplied is accurate.
Review:
- your employment documents
- classification
- roster
- actual hours worked
- breaks
- allowances
- payslip information
- any recent changes to your employment
If the discrepancy remains, you may choose to raise it with your employer or payroll team.
Yes.
Piece My Pay is intended to provide a clearer breakdown of the information behind a potential discrepancy so you have something understandable to refer to when asking questions about your pay.
No.
Piece My Pay does not automatically contact your employer or payroll department when a discrepancy is identified.
You remain in control of what you do with your result.
Piece My Pay does not automatically notify your employer that you’re using the platform or checking your pay.
There may be information or circumstances that were not available when the Piece My Pay calculation was performed.
Review the explanation provided by payroll and compare it with the information in your Piece My Pay result.
If necessary, update your information and re-check the result.
No.
Piece My Pay helps identify and explain potential pay discrepancies.
It does not automatically recover wages, negotiate with your employer or commence legal proceedings.
Section 05
Awards, agreements & employment documents
An award is a legal document that sets minimum pay rates and employment conditions for particular industries and occupations in Australia.
Not every employee is covered by an award.
An enterprise agreement is an employment agreement made between one or more employers and employees that can contain specific pay rates and working conditions.
An award provides minimum employment conditions for particular industries or occupations.
An enterprise agreement can contain conditions that apply specifically to a particular employer or group of employees.
The document that applies to you depends on your employment arrangement.
Yes.
If an award is relevant to your employment, it can be provided as part of the information used for your pay check.
Yes.
If your employment is covered by an enterprise agreement, you can upload that agreement.
Yes.
Your employment contract may contain information relevant to your classification, salary, rate, allowances or other employment conditions.
More than one document may contain information relevant to your employment.
Provide the documents you believe apply so Piece My Pay has the information needed to understand your pay arrangement.
If you already have employment documents from your employer, upload the relevant information available to you.
Where Piece My Pay cannot confidently determine the rules needed for your calculation, it should identify that rather than simply guessing.
Generally, an unchanged employment document should not need to be uploaded for every individual pay period.
If your employment conditions change, you should update the relevant information in Piece My Pay.
Update the relevant employment information so future pay checks use the correct rate.
Update your Piece My Pay employment information.
Classification changes can affect rates, allowances and other employment conditions.
Provide the updated agreement or employment information so future pay periods are checked against the correct rules.
Section 06
Rosters & hours
Your roster provides information about when and how long you were expected to work.
That information can be compared with your employment rules and your payslip.
Yes, where screenshot uploads are supported.
Make sure the important information is clearly visible, including:
- dates
- start times
- finish times
- relevant break information
- shift details
Where image upload is supported, yes.
The image needs to be clear enough for the relevant information to be read accurately.
The most useful information is the record that reflects the work you actually performed.
If your published roster was changed, provide or confirm the final hours wherever possible.
Your pay check should reflect the hours you actually worked rather than only the originally scheduled roster.
Make sure the work information provided to Piece My Pay reflects the additional time.
Record the hours you actually worked wherever possible.
Use the most reliable available record of the work you actually performed.
If your employer later corrects your attendance record, update your information accordingly.
Another reliable record of your hours may be sufficient depending on your employment arrangement.
The accuracy of your result depends on the quality of the work information available.
That’s okay.
Piece My Pay is designed to check pay periods using the relevant work information for each period.
Section 07
Payslips
Your payslip shows what your employer says you were paid.
Piece My Pay compares that information with the expected calculation created from your employment rules and work information.
Depending on the payslip format, relevant information may include:
- pay period
- hours
- rates
- gross pay
- ordinary earnings
- overtime
- allowances
- loadings
- deductions
- other earnings information
Yes.
Yes.
Make sure the relevant information is clear and not cropped.
Yes.
The photograph should be clear, straight and readable.
Upload all pages containing information relevant to the pay period.
Piece My Pay will try to identify the relevant information.
If it cannot confidently interpret something, it should flag the information for review rather than silently making an assumption.
Correct the information when you review it, before relying on the final calculation.
Section 08
Your pay dashboard
Your pay dashboard is the place where your pay information comes together.
It gives you an ongoing view of your pay checks rather than leaving each payslip as an isolated document.
Your dashboard can show information such as:
- recent pay checks
- check status
- correct and potential discrepancy outcomes
- expected pay
- recorded pay
- differences
- hours
- relevant pay components
- previous pay periods
- employment information
Yes.
Your dashboard helps you build a clearer record of your pay over time.
Because every pay period can be different.
Changes in any of these can change your pay:
- hours
- shifts
- overtime
- allowances
- leave
- penalties
- public holidays
- employment conditions
A series of correct checks can provide reassurance, while continuing to check gives you a better chance of noticing when something changes.
No.
A successful check means the information examined by Piece My Pay appears to align based on the documents and records available.
It does not guarantee that every aspect of your employment or payroll arrangement is correct.
No.
You should continue keeping employment documents, rosters, payslips and other important records in accordance with your own needs.
Section 09
Accuracy & AI
Yes.
AI can be used to help read and interpret information contained in uploaded employment documents, rosters and payslips.
No. Piece My Pay doesn’t simply ask an AI model to guess your correct pay.
Its approach is to use AI to help identify and structure relevant information, then use structured calculation logic to perform the pay calculation.
Pay calculations require consistency and transparency.
Using structured calculation logic makes it easier to understand how a result was produced and reduces reliance on an AI model generating a numerical answer by itself.
Yes.
AI systems can misunderstand documents or extract information incorrectly.
That’s why you can review important extracted information, and why Piece My Pay should clearly identify uncertainty rather than hiding it.
The accuracy of a pay check depends on:
- the accuracy of the uploaded documents
- whether the correct documents were provided
- the quality of roster information
- the quality of payslip information
- the complexity of the employment arrangement
- whether all relevant employment conditions are available
Piece My Pay is intended to assist with checking your pay, not replace professional legal or industrial advice.
The platform should identify uncertainty or request more information.
It should not present an uncertain assumption as a confirmed fact.
Possible reasons include:
- missing information
- an outdated employment document
- a changed roster
- different attendance records
- a payroll adjustment
- incorrect information in an upload
- a rule requiring additional context
- an employer interpretation
- an actual payroll error
A difference should be investigated rather than automatically treated as proof of an underpayment.
Section 10
Privacy & security
Piece My Pay is designed around the principle that employment and pay information should be handled privately.
Information is processed in accordance with Piece My Pay’s Privacy Policy and applicable privacy obligations.
Not simply because you use Piece My Pay.
Your Piece My Pay account is separate from your employer.
No.
Piece My Pay does not automatically notify your employer that you’ve created an account or checked your pay.
Piece My Pay does not sell your personal information to employers, advertisers or data brokers.
Piece My Pay needs enough information to understand the rules that affect your pay, the work you performed and the amount you received.
Without that information, an accurate comparison may not be possible.
Yes.
Avoid providing sensitive information where it isn’t needed for a pay check.
What you save in your account (your jobs, shifts, payslips and the documents you upload) is stored on our servers, which Railway runs for us in the United States.
Uploaded files are checked for viruses and kept in private storage, never at a public web address, and the app shows your information only to you.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we look after it.
Everything you send us travels over an encrypted connection.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we protect your information.
You can delete your documents, payslips and shifts at any time.
If your paid access ends, we keep your saved work for a set time so you can come back, then delete it: the subscription policy says how long.
They’re checked for viruses and kept in private storage, tied to your account.
When you ask us to read a document, OpenAI reads it for us. It doesn’t use it to train its models, and under its terms keeps it for at most 30 days to check for misuse. Nothing it finds is used until you’ve checked it.
You can delete your documents at any time. Our Privacy Policy and subscription policy explain how long we keep them.
Section 11
Accounts
Yes.
An account allows Piece My Pay to associate your employment information, documents and pay checks with your personal dashboard.
Follow the Piece My Pay sign-up process using your email address and the required verification process.
Email verification helps confirm that the email address belongs to you and helps protect access to your account.

- your email address was entered correctly
- your spam or junk folder
- whether the previous code has expired
Then request another verification code if required.
Yes.
The Piece My Pay website works in supported mobile browsers.
Yes.
Not at the moment.
Your email address is how you sign in, so Settings shows it but can’t change it.
Yes.
Piece My Pay is intended to accommodate workers with different employment arrangements. Each job you add keeps its own employment rules and records, so rules from one employer are never mixed with another’s.
Your Piece My Pay account can remain with you.
Your employment information should be updated so future checks use the documents and conditions relevant to your new job.
Section 12
Pricing & subscriptions
Piece My Pay costs $14.99 a month or $149 a year, and you can start with a free check of one payslip.
The pricing page has the details, and checkout shows the exact price before you pay.
Your pay happens repeatedly.
Piece My Pay is designed as an ongoing pay dashboard, allowing you to check new payslips and build visibility over your pay rather than performing only a single one-off calculation.
Yes.
You can cancel from your subscription page, under the terms in our subscription policy.
Your subscription renews until you cancel.
Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. The subscription policy has the details.
Cancelling stops your subscription renewing:
- Billing stops: you aren’t charged again.
- Access continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
- Your past checks are then locked, and kept for a set time in case you come back.
- Your uploaded documents are kept with the rest of your saved work, then deleted with it.
The subscription policy says how long we keep your work. Cancelling doesn’t delete your sign-in account.
Not straight away.
When paid access ends, your saved work is locked, and we keep it for a set time so you can come back. Renew before then and it’s restored. After that it’s deleted and can’t be restored.
The subscription policy says how long.
Yes.
If you renew before your saved work is deleted, you get it back. After that, a new subscription starts with an empty workspace.
Piece My Pay may update its pricing in the future.
Any changes affecting existing subscribers will be handled in accordance with the applicable subscription terms and notice requirements.

Section 14
Troubleshooting
Check that:
- the image is clear
- the whole roster is visible
- dates are visible
- start and finish times are visible
- nothing important has been cropped
If necessary, upload a clearer version or correct the information when you review it.
Make sure the upload is clear and complete.
Review the extracted information before completing the pay check and correct anything that has been interpreted incorrectly.
Confirm that the complete relevant document has been uploaded and that the file is readable.
If Piece My Pay cannot identify the information it needs, it should explain what additional information is required.
Review:
- employment document
- classification
- rate
- roster
- actual hours
- start and finish times
- breaks
- allowances
- employment type
- payslip
- pay period
- any changes to your employment conditions
Incorrect source information can produce an incorrect result.
The system may not have enough information to calculate your expected pay confidently.
Rather than inventing an answer, Piece My Pay may ask for more information or identify that the check cannot currently be completed.
Some employment arrangements and documents are more complex than others.
If processing fails or takes unusually long, Piece My Pay should show a status message and a way to try again.
Replace or remove the incorrect document from your documents before relying on the associated calculation.
Use the corrected payslip for the relevant pay period and update the associated check if the platform supports replacing it.
